If I were to buy an April use year in December of this year direct, will they bank my 2024 points for me even though I’m past my banking window?

I don’t think there’s any guarantee, but I would say mostly likely Yes. Make sure the guide knows this.

Yes. They even have it listed in the home resort rules and regulations that buying new allows late banking.

I just purchased direct a month ago. Since I was also buying a resale with Dec use year, I also received the 2023 points, and had my direct purchase also be a Dec use year. I asked if they would bank the 2023 points even though it was past the banking window, and they allowed me to do that. My DVC Vacation Club Guide banked the 2023 points a day after the contract showed up on my membership.

I suspect even if it's not written somewhere, one can probably make being able to bank those points a requirement for purchasing.

Yes, I am sure they can. I just like to let people know that it is currently an offical practice, just in case someone did get push back. They can remind the CM it’s there!!

On October 1st I bought April use year direct points at Poly tower. I can bank the 2024 points at will until 3/31/2025 as confirmed with member services.

That's good to know. I figured it was a one time override they would do only at the time of purchasing or closing, but it seems you can bank at any time during the first year if purchased after the start of the use year? Nice!
