Banking Question..

I'm sure that this has been asked before, but if I have 2012 points and I bank them into 2013 do they then "become" 2013 points that would have to be used by Jan 31, 2015 if I have a Feb UY?

Trying to plan a pretty big family trip and I THINK I'm right that the 2012 points banked into 2013 would have to be used by 2015 but I could be WAAAY off...

DH is no help...I know someone here knows the answer!

If you bank 2012 points into your 2013 UY, those point are only good for the duration of your 2013 UY. So no, they would not be good in 2015. Even if you have a Dec UY, they would only be good until 11/30/2014.

Yes, they become 2013 points but they will expire 1/31/14.

2012 = 2/1/12 to 1/31/13
2013 = 2/1/13 to 1/31/14
2014 = 2/1/14 to 1/31/15

If you are planning a larger family trip, the way I understand it, you have a maximum of 3 years points to work with: one years banked points, current years points, and one years borrowed points.

Unless you plan your trip for the end of January 2014 into February 2014. Then you could actually use 2012 (banked into 2013 to expire 1/31/14), current 2013 (to expire 1/31/14), any banked 2013 (to expire 1/31/15), borrowed 2014 (to expire 1/31/14), current 2014 (to expire 1/31/15) and borrowed 2015 (to use 2/1/14 up until 1/31/15).

So for nights in Jan 2014 you use banked 2012, current 2013 and borrowed 2014. For nights in Feb 2014, you use banked 2013, current 2014 and borrowed 2015.
