Banking question (need confirmation)

We have banked in the past but never used them for home resort reservations so have a question.

One of our contracts is at VB. We have 2018 VB points we will not use for the rest of the year (at any resort - all 2018 vacation currently booked through other contracts). We want to book a VB stay as soon as the 11 month window opens for 2019 stay. Our 2019 allotment will not be enough for the unit and days we want to book. I assume we can bank the 2018 VB and use them together with the 2019 VB points for a 11 month out reservation? Sorry if this is confusing - just want to make sure when I bank those points they still get me the 11 month window.

I will call DVC again but there was a hold so thought I would ask here first. Thanks!

Yes. Banking basically moves them into your subsequent UY.

Points can only be banked during the first 8 months of your UY. Your UY is not a calendar year. Points need to be available during the dates of your stay, not when you make the reservation. Banking moves points one UY forward, borrowing moves points one UY back. Banking and borrowing are final transactions and can not be reversed.

Points always keep their home resort affiliation even if banked, borrowed or transferred. So yes, they will still have the VB home resort priority and can be used for the booking along with any 2019 points you need to use.
