Banking points

I have points at SSR (200) - banked 13 last year (2004)

Can you help:
1) Will those points expire at the end of my 2005 use year (feb)
2) If I do use some of my 2005 points will the banked points be used first
3) Can I then bank some of the 2005 points
4) If I decide to use the points later in the year (after I've banked them) do I need to borrow from 2006

Has anybody used points for a disney collection stay - some of them look reasonable for the time of year I want to go and it would be different to staying at the DVC

I know this sounds confusing - imagine typing it lol - any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, 13 points you banked in 2004 will expire on Jan. 31, 2006, end of your 2005 UY

Yes, I believe that is the protocal but you might want mention that to the MS CM when making your reservation

You can bank your points anytime you want. Number of points you can bank depends on the banking schedule but you're still within your 100% window so no problem there.

4) If I decide to use the points later in the year (after I've banked them) do I need to borrow from 2006

If you've banked all your 05 points and you need to make a trip before Feb. 1 of the following year, you'd need to borrow points. Remember, once banked/borrowed, those points can't be return to its original UY status.

Just to emphasize one point. While they USUALLY use banked and borrowed points first, not always. You should always remind them to do so. If you get stuck later with points that are banked or borrowed, there are methods to recoup the points within an existing reservation to allow you to bank other points in many circumstances.
