If you bank your points because you dont plan on going on vacation but later change your mind, can you unbank them or are they froze until the next year? THX!

banking and borrowing are FINAL transactions.

once you move the pts with banking or borrowing, they cannot be put back and will expire at the end of their "new" use year, if you don't use them for a stay during that period.

edited to add: you can still borrow from that next year's allotment, though, if you want to travel in the current use year.

We have 200 OKW points UY June.

Say we banked all 200 of our 2011 points...and still had all 200 of the 2012 points coming in June...the banked 2011 points now become, basically, 2012 points (400 to use June 1, 2012 to May 31, 2013).

If we change our mind...we can still borrow points from the original 2012 allotment (which would be used from June 1, 2011 to May 31, 2012).

I would just call member services and tell them what vaction you are thinking about and they can tell you if it'll work.

I actually just did this. April Uy. Banked all my points in Nov. Just had to borrow a few to complete a Mar/Apr reservation. Member Services borrowed just enough to book one night in Mar, then used the banked points for the April portion of the reservation. Member Services Reps are great with explaining what has to be done.

Just a thought... I haven't heard of this, though.

MS will (or historically has allowed) a one-time exception to your banking deadline, and allow you to bank points after your deadline has past. Note this is supposedly one-time-only thing. I used it myself this past April (actually on May 1).

I wonder if they would allow a similar one-time-only exception going the other way, and allow you to "un-bank" points back to their original UY.

I would doubt it because you can always borrow back points from the next UY so there really is no reason to allow "unbanking".
