OK, hers a question im unsure about. we are in the process of joining. MY only real question is, when do i have to bank my poits? do i have to bank them before a certain time or if i dont use them do they automatically go in the bank?
Now once io bank these poits, do i have to make sure and use them first on my next ressie or do they get used first??
Hope someone can help, but i know, from reading on here, someone will have the answer im looking for.
First trip DVC will be sept. 07:surfweb:

If you don't plan to use your points during the current use year, you have up until the first 6 months of the year to bank all of them. Then as the months go by, you can bank fewer and fewer of them.

Here is what the POS states:
7-12 months 100%
4-6 months 50%
3 months 25%
2 months or less 0%

The DVC member web site also tells you when you log into your points the deadlines for banking for each of your contracts.

Once you bank your points, you have to use them by the end of the following use year. For example, if your use year is Feb. and you've banked your 2007 points into 2008, you have to use them by the end of Jan. 2009. Please note that once banked, you can not use them during your 2007 use year. In this case , if you need points for 2007, you would have to borrow from your 2008 points.

Although this is a little complicated, it demostrates the flexibity of DVC's points system.

Others have answered your questions, but I wanted to reinforce that banking never happens automatically. If you don't bank points by the banking deadlines, you have to use them in their assigned use year. If you don't, they expire and you lose the use of them.

Needless to say, banking deadlines are important!! :)

:cool1: Thank you everyone who answered, i understand much better now and its pretty much not a bad deal. I usually know when i can get time off every year so i should not have a problem knowiing when( if i ever need to) bank my points
