Banking Points, Then Borrowing

Say I banked my points in a timely manner. Then I decide to snag a night or two one full month before my next year’s points load.

Assuming I can get my reservation last minute,when I borrow points, will they come out of the older bucket or the newer bucket?

The banked points will remain banked and the borrowed points will come from the regular use year points (the newer bucket). Both banking and borrowing are final transactions so the applicable points cannot be moved back into the use year from which they came.
