Banking Points question

I feel foolish for asking this, but here is the scenario...

We have a March UY, so bank by end of October.

On Sept. 16, 2011 we will reserve 11 months out for our home resort for August 2012. We have 160 UY 2011 points that we will be using. If we are using them for the August 2012 trip that we are booking in a few weeks do we still have to bank the 2011 points or will they be tied to/used for the Aug. 2012 trip?

Since your August 2012 vacation will be in your March 2012 UY, all points for that trip need to be in the 2012 UY. So you will need to bank the 160 March 2011 points to use in August 2012, since they are only available for vacations between 3/1/11 and 2/29/12. MS should be able to bank the points when you call on 9/16/11. Have fun planning!

Be sure that you make it clear to MS to bank the point first and then make the reservation.

You can also call and bank them prior to your 11 month window, especially if what you want to book is a hard to get reservation, or bank them online.

Everything is based on what UY you will be traveling and not what UY you are in when you call.
