Banking points - did I mess up?

My use year is October and I must bank my points by May 31st. I have 33 points in Oct 2017. Was I supposed to bank those? I'm super confused. Or can I still use them? We plan on going March 2018 but I haven't booked anything yet. I've had so much going on I completely spaced it. TIA!

I am new, so I am not sure but, I think if you are saying you get 33 points in oct 2017 technically you don't have them yet, so when you get them in oct 17 you will have until May 31 to bank any not used or not going to be used....

I am sure someone who is seasoned can help us!

Call DVC as soon as possible to clarify if they are 2016 or 2017 points. If they are 2016 points, they may be able to bank them into 2017 as a one time oopsie for you, if you ask nice.

If they are really 2017 points, then you have until Sept 31, 2018 to use them so go ahead and book your March 2018 trip NOW.

If the website says that they are 2017 UY points then they are. You can use them for your March reservation.

You're still in your 2016 use year, so the May 31st deadline was for banking your 2016 points.

If you want to take a trip in March 2018, that's in your 2017 use year, so you can use banked 2016 points, current 2017 points, and borrowed 2018 points.

When you have a fall UY, the bulk of that UY is in the next calendar year. One way to help is to always think about the UY as a new "calendar year". So, with October, your 2017 UY doesn't start until October 2017, which means everything prior to that will be 2016 UY. It can be confusing for sure!
