Banking is FINAL even if MS/CM fault.....

First of all, I want to say that my conversation with MS (Rico) was very good. He was fantastic.

It all began with my July trip. As some may recall, we had difficulty with the reservation (it was originally set to move out after one day into another unit but the waitlist came through............supposedly). Our check in CM was not very informative and I must say, after my many years at OKW and many trips per year, she was the worst. OK.....so everyone is entitled to a bad day (as most of you told me). I'm got over it but realized it effected T & T day etc. which turned into another issue for me.

Didn't think anything about it until DD needed a replacement room key. Was told the room had changed, the reservation go all messed up and after a few hours (maybe a little less) trying to fix the problem, the CM just made us another reservation. So, we all got new keys and we went on our way. So I thought it was behind us.

I just made a new reservation for April. I got confused as they had to borrow points when I had sufficient points available. Come to find out..........when the CM (who was so nice and was honestly trying to help) re-booked the reservation after the key episode, the computer put 104 points into a holding account!!! So, since the April ressie is too close to the end of my use year (June), they had to borrow points and not use the 104 which are rightfully not in a holding account.

So, Rico at MS fixed the "holding account" of 104 points but could not re-instate the "borrowed" points!!! The computer would not allow him to do it. It was fine with me, as I do not think I will need any more points for this use year and we will be returning next summer (new use year)..............as always. So, I banked the 104 points but the June 2009 borrowed points still remain. NOt that it is a big deal in my situation but it could be in someone elses.

Shouldn't there be a way that MS (or management) can reverse the "borrowed" points if it were an error on their part?
 
If it is their mistake they should be able to fix it. It may take some IT or a supervisor but I'm sure it could be fixed.

They can fix it, I had an error last November. I was booking day by day for BWV for this October, 6 nights. Everything was going fine. The last day to call was a Saturday and the cm did not seem to know what she was doing. I asked for my points balance and it wasn't right. She said that the system just had to catch up. Hmmm.... I had plenty of 2008 points to do this reservation (167 points). I looked online at my account. Somehow, she returned the points for the first 5 nights to 2008 and borrowed 2009 points for the entire 6 nights! So I had 167 extra points in 2008 and 167 subtracted from 2009! I couldn't get back through on the phone, so I sent an e-mail. They were able to correct it but they had to cancel the reservation, put the points back where they belonged and then rebook the reservation with a new#. Luckily they did not lose my reservation in the process.
 

I somewhat thought that they could 'fix' the error but it really wasn't going to effect my vacation plans for this year or next. Also, Rico (MS) was extremely pleasant and willing to assist me in anyway possible (that he could do). It truly was a far cry from the CM on check in at OKW (trust me, this was a first in many years and hope it is a last!!).

I have more than enough points for next year as our summer vacation will most likely be shorter due to my oldest heading off for college in the fall 2009......depending on where she chooses to go!

Seems there have been quite a few errors with points lately. Hope everyone keeps track of their own points!!! Seems it would be beneficial for everyone.
 
What if plans change and you end up needing those points.

Best to get it straightened out.
 
Also, Rico (MS) was extremely pleasant and willing to assist me in anyway possible (that he could do).

I spoke with Rico yesterday. He WAS very nice though he couldn't help me with availability, dang it!
 
MS mistakenly borrowed points for my upcoming vacation next May at AKV. I caught the mistake a few minutes later when reviewing the points transaction online.

I called MS and they told the other MS operators not to make and ressies while they fixed the situation. It was kind of weird because it was a concierge reservation, but it got fixed. They can fix this for you.
