Banking deadline?

New owner. I just booked a trip for September with my points and have about 20 points left in my account. I have a February use year.
I was going to just bank the remaining points now but have read I should wait in case I need to change my trip and need those points. So 2 questions please
1. When should I bank those remaining points/have to bank them by so I don’t lose them
2. Let’s say for some reason I need to cancel my September trip would those points be bankable?

1) Feb UY means you need to bank 2021 UY pts by Sept 30, 2021.

2) You still need to cancel more than 30 days out or else the points from that reservation will go into a holding account and cannot be banked or borrowed.

You can bank 2021 points up until September 30th, so plenty of times. The only reason to bank earlier might be if you want to use for trips in your 2022 UY.

As long as you cancel that September trip at least 31 days in advance, you can bank.
