Banking/borrowing..no clue

I am planning my first DVC vacation. I want to use all of my 2008 and 2009 points for my Dec 09' trip. My use year is August. Before I make my reservation on January 26th, do I have to bank my 08' points because I'm useing them in 09', or do I have to borrow my 09' points to make the reservation because I don't get my allotment till August?

I amassuming you are planning on a reservation for Christmas week 2009. You will need to bank the 2008 points as they are good for reservations from August 1 2008- July 31 2009. The 2009 points will be used in their use year.
