If I were to buy BCV with an Oct use year and I get 2011 points can I use them for next year in October? Not sure how that would work. is there a time limit on them? we are planning a trip next year in October couldn't do this year .if I can't use them would I be able to rent them

October 2011 points would expire Sep 30 2012 or would have to be banked into the 2012 use year by may 31, 2012 (tomorrow) as points can Only be banked in the first 8 months of their UY.)
If you closed today or earlier you could bank, otherwise you would have to use them (rent) or loose them.

A rental would have to use those points within the next 4 months and because that is inside the 7 month booking window those BCV points would be no more valuable than SSR or VB to a renter.

I think if I were selling such a contract, I would bank the points today.

If you are purchasing direct from Disney, they often make a one time exception to the banking window on a new purchase. If buying resale, you'd probably be out of luck. Since you are talking BCV, I am assuming resale?
