Banking and Borrowing Scenario - Would this work?

I have a "what if" situation and would like to know if this is possible -

My sister, her family and mine would like to do a DVC vacation together in August 2008. I will have to borrow points for her to come with us. However, my sister will not know for sure if she can get the time off until January 2008.

I am planning to book this month (11 month window) and borrow the points for her. Come January, say she can't go with us. I know that I can't put back my 2008 borrowed points. BUT since my use year is December, could I bank my 2007 points (since I'll still have time to do so) and go on my borrowed points?

Does that make sense? Can you borrow points from the next year and bank your current year's points?

Yes. If you end up canceling, just be sure to tell MS which points to use and which points to bank. If you are getting a separate unit for your sister, use the 2007 points to book her reservation and the 2008 points to book your own room. If you are sharing a room and planning on downsizing to a smaller unit if she can't come, remember that you will need to start all over in the reservation process.
