Banking and borrowing points questions

We are new members so please bear with me with some basic bnking and borrowing questions. Once we bank points from one year into the next can we borrow them if we decide we want to go on a trip after all? For example if I bank my 2005 points I have into 2006 (we have an August use year) and then last minute we want to go away in 2005 can I borrow those points back? On the flip side one we borrow the points (if allowed) can we re-bank them into 2006 if we want to cancel before to 30 day mark of our trip? I hope this makes sence, and thanks for helping us understand better.

Banked points cannot be returned to their original use year.

Borrowed points cannot be returned to their original use year.

If a club member cancels a reservation made using banked or borrowed points, the cancellation will not return those banked or borrowed points to the original use year.

It's easy once you've been in DVC for a while. I know when we first purchased in 01 I was little confused. I went and read the DVC hand book and that help tremendously.

Even though you can't borrow your banked 2005 points, you could borrow your 2006 points to make a trip.

If we decide to bank our 2005 points, when can we use them? Our uy is Oct. so would this be when you can use banked points? Are you able to use banked points first before your regular uy points?

You can use your October 2005 points that you banked to make ressies that take place October 2006 or later, right up until Sept. 20, 2007. When you make a ressie for that time frame, MS USUALLY will use the points that were banked first, but you should make that request of them.
