Banking and Booking question

I have a banking and booking question.

I have a December UY, so am currently still in 2011

I am looking at a trip that will fall into my 2013 UY.

If I have 2011 points, that are banked into 2012, can they be used for this trip or would it be past the window in which I could use them? I would be booking the trip during the 2012 UY but the actual trip would take place in 2013.

As I understand it you need to have the points available in the UY in which the travel occurs. So Dec 2011 UY points that were banked into your Dec 2012 UY would expire at the end of your 2012 UY if they were not used.

For a trip occurring in you 2013 UY you could used banked 2012 points, current 2013 points and/or borrowed 2014 UY points.
