Banked pts?

If we have banked pts at time I make a reservation will the banked pts be what they automatically collect from or do we need to specify that fact? OR banked pts at time of actual stay ? Is that when they "collect" the points?
Figured I needed to break up some questions so they would be easier for others who may need the same info.

you USE the pts when you book them, so you are responsible for making sure that the banked pts are used first when booking a reservation (although MS is typically pretty good about doing this whether you remember to ask or not.)

if you cancel the reservation over a month out, the points will be put back...but it would most likely be too late if you wait to move pts around till you check in...

Just to be safe, you need to tell Member Services that you want to use the banked points for the reservation. Some CM's will do it automatically, but you don't want to find out the hardway that some don't.
