Banked points question

Ok so I'm trying more and more to understand the dvc
We own as a family group my dad my self and my sister
Mom passed away recently and I'm doing more with the points then before

Our month is october

So I banked left over points from our 2014 use year
Dad just booked a trip for him and my sister for Jan 2016


None of the banked points from 2014 were used and we will have a few points left over out of the 2015 points

We are planning a disney wedding for Oct 2017 we were thinking of a trip in October 2016 but can we use the banked points for a mid to late October trip or will our trip have to be before october

Oct 2014 UY runs from Oct 1 2014-Sept 30 2015
Banking those points into the next UY means they are valid from Oct 1 2015-Sept 30 2016.
Since you are looking at going Oct 2016 at the earliest no you would not be able to used 2014 banked points for that trip.
I would suggest calling member services and asking them to reallocate your points. They should be able to use 2014 banked points for your dad's Jan 2016 reservation and that would free up 2015 UY points to be banked into your 2016 UY-those could then be used for a trip in Oct 2016.

have to concur with CMNJ. You need to contact MS and get them to reallocate the points bank from 2014 for Jan 2016 trip so you can back those points for your Oct 2017 trip.
