Banked Points Covid -19 Question

We banked points from 2018, with a use year December. We were planning for a trip for 10 people. It takes our banked and current points, to provide us enough points for a trip. We have to use our 2018 points, by November 2020. We booked an 8 day trip over Thanksgiving. I am worried about restrictions still being in place, or being put in place again once fall virus season happens. Is there any word on what DVC will due with points that will expire, but trips are booked to use them? Newbie here so sorry if this was explained before.

Right now, you will lose them if they expire before you can use them. The only concession they are making right now is returning borrowed points. That could change though. No one knows what they will do.

I want to add that you are still within your banking windows and can save those 2019 points if you cancel by July 31st.

I think by then we will know much more. But, based on what is happening now, the banked points are use or lose and if you don’t bank 2019 on time, those will also become use or lose.

I’m in that same boat. I cx’ed a April trip which I should be on right now and rescheduled for this June 15th. 140 of the points r from banked points last year. I assumed I would loose them. It stinks but it really just makes sense anyway. We actually tried to reschedule for something in October or even November this year so we don’t loose them but wow it is booked up! I can’t even find a 2 bedroom for 6 days straight let alone a week. That is during holidays cause we have kids. The October week is the holiday weekend so I know a busy time in general but I figured I could grab something.
