banked 2009 pts on resale

I'm waiting for my resale to close. I'm going to have pts banked from 2009 and expire soon if we don't close soon.
What can I use or do with the pts?
Can I transfer them? RCI them?
Need to know before I make a ressie with them.

Our resale contract had 2009 points and we used them for this week's vaca! If they expire before you close there is nothing you can do...but if not I would call for whatever reservations you can get! I have no experience with RCI but I *think* you can bank them there.

We are in a similar situation. We are getting 40 2009 banked points with a Dec UY on a resale. We should be in the system by the end of June. We already have a reservation for 8 nights in October. I would like to apply some or all of the 40 points to the existing reservation, but I don't want them to cancel 1 night and then try to re-book, and end up losing the reservation. I may try to see if there is availability in the room type we are staying in, book one night and then cancel the same night on the current reservation. Then I would have them link the reservation so we would not have to change rooms. I ask the experts, would this work?? Obviously if it could work, there would have to be one night of availability in the room type that we are using.

Regarding your points, you can't transfer them, since they are already banked. You could try to rent them if you can't use them yourself in the short time until they expire. If we can't figure out a way to use them, I may see if a friend who lives in FL would want to use them for a 2-night stay at whatever is available this fall. I don't know anything about using RCI.
