Bank Drive-thru vent...

Yes, I'm afraid my money will be stuck in the tube. What should be a simple 10 minute transaction could turn into several hours or needing to come back the next day, kind of nightmare or inconvenience.

And sorry, I just don't trust money out of my sight without a receipt showing where it is. I depost $100 in cash, it gets stuck in the tube overnight and the next day they tell me, "We got your money out of the tube and deposited the $50 for you." :scared1:

Uh, no! With bank security cameras at the counters, and being right in front of a teller, I would be able to catch that kind of "discrepancy" right away. I don't know who or where they fish out a tube and if there are cameras down there.

While, for the most part, I think bank tellers are trustworthy, you give anyone opportunity and temptation, and there is always a risk.

So do you always go inside for transactions? OR does your drive through have a teller drawer at the lane closest to the window?

I notice the exact same thing. For the life of me I can't explain it. But I use it to my advantage. If the line is going around the corner of the bank, I will go past the line and check. ALWAYS 2 lanes are totally open. If they were not, I would circle back and get in line, nothing lost.

I'm thinking maybe it is elderly folks, not confident of the ability of a tube to take care of their business. My parents are like that. Won't use direct deposit. Have never had an atm card. Are the ones at the grocery store holding up the lines as they write out the checks.

Lane one at my bank is the commercial teller, with the old fashioned drawer instead of the tube. They did have to put up a sign that said Rolled coins or Buisness Accounts ONLY. Everyone loves the drawer lane. LOL

All of the drive-thru lanes can be open and I will still go to the lane with the ATM. It is just my preference.

I'm in NYC now, so no drive thrus. Although, I don't ever make overnight deposits using the ATM machines, either. I always go inside and do transactions.

The times I do have a car & use a drive thru, only when I'm making a deposit, I usually use the lane by the window with the drawer. If the line is too long, I'll just park and go inside. If I'm just making a withdrawal, I'll use the drive thru with an ATM.

BTW, I do use drive thrus for fast foods, and they have gotten my order wrong plenty of times or left out stuff and I drove away before realizing it. :headache: I just live with it. My "Drive Thru paranoia" is just at banks with those tubes.
