My mom, God bless her, lives with us. She's 86 and hard of hearing.

We just had this conversation:

I had just called and left my son a voice message on his cell phone to be careful coming home from work tonight because there's black ice on the roads and they are closing the Garden State Parkway due to numerous cars sliding off the road.

My mom asked me how I knew about the parkway. I told her that the Herald (which is a local newspaper that sends out text alerts when stuff is happening in the county) sent me a text.

Mom: "A what?"
Me: "A text. They sent me a text."
Mom: "They did?"
Me: "Yeah."
Mom: "Did you fill it out?"
Me: "What?"
Mom: "The test."

yep been there with my grandma

every morn. she would get up and get coffee put it in the microwave then repeat :goodvibes

Oh God bless you, but I needed that laugh!!:lmao:

I think you need to just tell her yes, you are being tested right now and passing with flying colors!

You have to laugh. The other choices aren't legal.

It's a good thing I love her because we have many, many conversations like this one.

How inspiring that your dear Mom is 86 years old!?!? :goodvibes

Bless her heart and yours for being there for her!!! :grouphug:

Thank you so much... I soooo needed a good giggle tonight... :goodvibes :goodvibes

God love ya for caring for your mom... way cool:thumbsup2

 Here is a prayer for patience for you!

My Mom is only 62 and doesn't live with me and she drives me nuts some days.

My Mom has had hearing issues for as long as I can remember. I feel your pain. I am always afraid to be the one to have to wake her up - she may slug me for sneaking up on her! :lmao:

Here is a big :grouphug: !

My mom is in her mid 60's but she does something that drives me nuts. I'll say something like "After this show is over we should get dinner started". One to two minutes later, mom will say "You know, I was thinking maybe it's time to get dinner started. How about after we finish watching this show?" I love my mother, but thank God we don't live together! ;) Even my DD noticed this. It happened numerous times while on vacation in WDW. DD would say, "hey look there goes Goofy". Within a minute my mom would say "Goofy's over there, let's go see him!". This from the woman who SWEARS she has bionic hearing! :lmao: :rotfl: Mom tells me she has selective hearing -- she only hears what she wants to!
