Band mom

Our anniversary is in October. More than one anniversary dinner was hot dogs from the concession stand. (Two kids so ten years of high school and university band.)

I always thought the band kids where taken to the games on a school bus. Is that just for away games? Does it vary by district?

In our county, and in college, the kids did travel by bus. We went to some away games in high school as they were close, and we traveled to the game when the team was in the state championship. The kids went by bus but we went to watch many high school band competitions. And went went when University of Maryland was in a bowl game in Orlando.

My son went out for pizza after practice tonight with 9 other clarinet players. Three of the older guys waited with him at the pizza place until we got there so they could make sure he was picked up. What nice kids. We told him he should invite his section over to swim when we get back from our summer road trip.

Many fond memories for our 3 sons and dh and I about their combined 10 plus years in band. Our youngest band kid graduated high school in 2017.

He made friends with a guy in college who is on the spectrum, brilliant, in the college band, drum major, was known and loved by all students, and became Mr. Their College representative (like Homecoming king).

You'll find so many good kids in band. It will be great for you and your son
