Counting down the days till we get married. We are going to get our bands tomorrow. Need some ideas about band engravings, trying to think of something other than or names and date. What are/have had engraved in your bands! :bride: :groom:

Ours say, "Semper Fidelis"...meaning Always Faithful.

Here are some other ideas...

The beginning of forever
Oh the places we'll go
I'll always love you to forever
Today, tomorrow, forever
Eternally yours
MY LIFE, MY LOVE, MY CENTER
Amor Vincit Omnia (love conquers all)

I'm Irish, so I had "my heart lies within you" engraved in my fiance's ring in gaelic.

My band is going to be engraved with "Sunshine" *his nickname for me & His band is going to be engraved with "my lil heffalump", corny I know but very special to us.

We haven't quite decided what to put yet...

Some folks have put the Mickey head icon on theirs (especially if it's a Disney wedding) but since our rings have the icon all around the outside, we don't need to do that.

I did find some interesting things on a few websites that you might want to check out http://www.ejeweler.com/posy.htm there are links on this page for different cultures/heritages and you might find something there...

We want to get Mickey heads engraved on ours, but have no clue how to go about doing it or contacting a jeweler to do something like that.

Hey, We engrave lot's of strange things in Wedding bands.

One of my favorite things is the transliteration of ancient hebrew "Ani ledodi ve Dodi Li ". It translates to I am my beloved and my beloved is mine.

Check out this site for engraving styles; I found them on Google, have never used them...

Other suggestions?

I have engraved the question... Her band "Will you marry me?" His band "Are you serious?"

A bible chapter and verse (the name/numbers),

Forever (and the date).

One bride joked "If found call (123)555-7890"

Our most common are the initials and the date.

The amount you can fit in the ring depends on the bands.
BTWm My band isn't engraved, but I have a Turkish Puzzle Ring as a WB,

and DW doesn't have anything wngraved on hers.

Where are you located? if in FL, you might be able to get it done at a jeweler at DTD (there are some places that sell WDW jewelry. Or, you could go to any mall jeweler with a picture. Our shop can do it, but I would never live it down... I just did a quick google search, and found this site, they may be able to help; Again, I found it on Google, I have never dealt with them. They are about 2-3 times more expensive than what we usuallu charge, but they are charging for types of engraving that we don't do...

We were going to do the hidden Mickeys inside the rings, but decided not to when we purchased them. Mainly b/c mine is a thinner band and since they were doing hand engraving, we weren't sure how well the engraver would be able to draw Mickey ears (even though they shouldn't be too hard!). So we just went with the wedding date instead and we love it!

First in our bands we both have "It's a happy day 10-8-99" - quote from winnie the pooh - unique but still DISNEY!!!

Second, I work in a jewelry store and sell many wedding bands and have been asked this often. Most common is date and initials - we joke that this way noone can forget the anniversary. Other ideas that we have heard are nicknames/petname, we have had requests for the inifity symbol, one person had her husbands engraved with "put it back on :rotfl2: "

My personal feeling is make it something special to you - a movie line, song title, petname, specific day or date or just something that when you look at it or think about it noone else knows what it REALLY means other than your spouse  . People see mine and just think "oh, they picked that because it was a happy event" not for the "real" reasons. Make it a secret and don't reveal the engraving to him/her until the wedding day.

Thanks!!! Well, we decide on "Ani V' Dodi, V' Dodi Li",is a Hebrew translation from the Song of Songs. It has a few varied translations, like "I am to my beloved and my beloved is to me". Getting excited!!!!

DH's band is engraved with "My Prince Will Come 2/10/04"

He walked down the aisle to "Someday My Prince Will Come", so it was appropriate.

We have lyrics from our wedding song engraved in ours, My husbands says " The rest of my life" and mine finishes it "with you by my side"

it's from the song "Amazed" by Lonestar.

I just had my fiance's ring engraved with "The One Ring." When we first together he used to tell me that the only ring he wanted was the one ring from The Lord of the Rings. He always asked will you get me the one ring. Now I have!! I'm suprising him with it. I plan to show him during the unity candle.

We have a joke in our shop that all Ladies Wedding bands should be stamped with what was written on The Hobbits Ring.

It translates roughly to to: One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them

:jumping2:

Actually, our first choice of rings was the one shown in ohanafamily's post...the translation (according to the website) was:

One ring to show our love,
One ring to bind us
One ring to seal our love
And forever to entwine us.

We LOVED the words...but the ring was too "thick" for my finger. We ended up keeping the sterling silver version.

It was heartbreaking when we realized those rings wouldn't work...luckily I had a friend going down to Disney about a week later...she went to the World of Disney store and took pics of four rings that could be used as wedding bands. We ended up ordering one of them!! It's SOOO cute! :)

Have you thought about birthstones or the stone from the month of your wedding?

Ours says "First, Last, Always"
Short and Sweet!
