bananas on plane

Maybe this is a strange question but, can you take bananas on a plane? Like a bunch 7-10 or so. Would you take them carry on or check? How can I keep them from getting smooshed?
I looked for restricted items and it didn't say anything about fruit. I have heard of people getting madarin oranges taken away (too juicy I guess). I was thinking you couldn't travel with fruit but, perhaps that is from different countries.

There are regulations when crossing into other countries on agriculture. Are you flying internationally?

Are you planning on eating all of them on board? if so, bring them in the carryon. Otherwise bananas can be purchased pretty much anywhere at WDW and pretty much any city/state I have been to in America.

This post made me laugh!! My mom went with us to WDW last year (her first time) and she asked me about 3 times prior to our trip if she could take banana's with her (she was really worried about making sure she had them). She ended up just buying some at our 30 min grocery stop (although, POR did have them in the food court). But, it was just funny how much she was wanting to make sure that she would have them.

No problem with bananas. I have taken several in my carry-on.

Ok, cool. We are just flying to Orlando from Indianapolis. We will not be able to go to the grocery and I just didn't want to pay like $2 a banana or something. My Ds must have his banana for breakfast everyday.

I would apply 'penny wise pound foolish' in this case.

Bananas can be bought at every WDW resort for $0.50 - $0.75. That's $3.50 or so for the week.

Trying to safely pack 7 bananas will result in squished bananas in your suitcase, or in your carry on. Squished bananas may leak out into your clothes.

Why not buy one or two in the airport if needed, and the rest at the resort? the savings vs the headache is not worth it in this case....
