Well, the kids and I are counting down the days until Bambi comes out on dvd!!! We are all so excited :cool1: It is one of our absolute favorite Disney films!!!

What are the best deals out there for Bambi? Does anyone know what the Disney Stores' promo might be? I already pre-ordered The Incredibles there (and got a great deal) but I'm not sure what they already did for Bambi.

TIA princess:

I work at The Disney Store, and I know of NO promos for Bambi. It will be $19.98 for the DVD, and I'm guessing $15.98 for VHS. WalMart has usually had the best prices in my area, but only for the first week after release.

You may want to check Toys R Us. A friend of mine told me when she was there last week and she checked out, they asked her if she would like to pre-order one for $5, and if she did, she would receive a $10 gift card also. She said their price was $19.99. So, that's $10 back right there. Sounds like a good deal to me. :earsboy:

I usually buy at costo or walmart but I did get suckered into the deal at TRU I paid $10 to reserve and will pay $14.99 for each when they come out- $5 for bambi and $5 for the incredibles- I received a $10 gift card in return.Had to buy both though. I had planned on buying the for the kids for easter anyhow.

Thanks!

I'll check out TRU tomorrow!!! :cheer2:

TRU will price match, but without an ad I have had problems with them before. Target usually has the new releases cheaper the first day as well. Also in today's coupons (paper) there is a $5.00 rebate if you buy the movie and Jolly Time popcorn. Bambi is just so sad, I didn't know if I wanted to even get it.

The TRU deal is:

Preorder Bambi and The Incredibles (at the same time) and get a $10 gift card.

Best Buy was advertising a free Thumper plush toy, just like the Abu they gave out for Aladdin. I did not see the price, but it was comparable to the other stores for Aladdin plus you got the free toy.

I'm sure this varies by location, but if you have a KROGER grocery store check in their Sunday's ad to see if they are running a Meal and Movie Deal. In our area if you buy the Bambi DVD or VHS you get...

8 Pieces Deli Fried Chicken
1 2-Liter Coke Product
1 Big bag of Brach's Jelly Beans
1 Box of Jolly Time Popcorn
2 Boxes of Little Debbie Snack Cakes

We've done this in the past with other new videos and it ends up being a great deal. The DVD is $19.99.

Best Buy is $15.99 and you get the free plush Thumper that is valued at $9.99. It came to $18.53 including all shipping and tax. Pretty good for the DVD and plush! princess:

Is the plush just for pre-ordering or can you get it tomorrow (the official release date?)

Our sale add said that there would be a minimum of 75 available at each store starting on the release date. Don't know about online.

Thanks for all the advice everybody!!!

I ended up ordering it from Best Buy (I got 1% back thru Upromise that way - woohoo  ) I'm a little sad we probably won't have it tomorrow but it was too good of a deal to pass up. (The Krogers' deal sounds like a better deal but they haven't been here for many years following a long drawn out strike by their union :sad2: )

That's a great deal at Krogers. Our ad didn't say anything about it, so they must not be doing it here.

same deal in SW Michigan/OHIO

I preordered it on Disneydirect.com- it was $19.99 but you get the 4 lithographs. I was ordering a bunch of other stuff from that website, so I figured I might as well pre-order it then. I wonder when it will come, hopefully tomorrow or wed. I don't really want to watch it, though, b/c its so sad. I just want to have it :rotfl: -Steph
