Baltimore Inner Harbor

We would like to catch an Orioles game in July and was wondering if anyone could recommend a decent (safe, clean) hotel near Inner Harbor. I have been told there are a few areas to avoid so I would like to avoid them, yet I don't want to break the bank in doing so. Thanks.

If you want to be safe you have to get in one of the hotels right at the Harbor there are some cheaper ones up by the Areana that are fine a about 2 blocks away.

This is normally one of the cheaper ones that is still safe and a very short walk to CYards

You can also go with one of the BWI hotels it's just a short ride right to the Cyards

I was in Baltimore 2 years ago and stayed at the Days Inn, Power Plant and the Inner Harbour a 5-7 minute walk, hotel was nice.

Beautiful, but on the opposite side of the Harbor from Camden Yards. I'd still recommend it though -- just take the water taxi. Even the walk wouldn't be bad if it's a nice day.

We've stayed at the Brookshire Suites, just a couple of blocks from the inner Harbor, and a nice walk from the ballpark--there were so many people around after the game that I felt very safe walking to and from. We've also stayed at the Lord Baltimore (Radisson), and felt a little less safe walking to the Inner Harbor.

Thanks for all of the links, unfortuneately for me I checked them all and there are no availabilities at any of them for the weekend we want to go. I wonder what is going on that weekend except for the Yankees coming to play the Orioles!

Anyone else have any suggestions?

We stayed at the Wyndom and it was pretty close to CY and the harbor. We walked to the inner harbor all the time. What weekend is it? The convention center is right there so there could be some big convention going on. I know we went for an Anime convention and it was very, very busy.

Just checked the dates for Otakon (HUGE convention) and it is July 20-22. IF that is the weekend hotels will be booked and if you find one be prepared to see some really outrageous sights.

What weekend is it?

July 28 & 29. I really think something else must be going on because I have found hotel after hotel that does not have any available rooms. I even tried for one night thinking that might make a difference, but no such luck.
