Hi all - going to Inner Harbor end of October for Red Bull Flutag. Unfortunately, got the Wyndham on Priceline and some of the reviews I've read are horrible!!! Does anyone know of this hotel and is it REALLY that bad?

Apparently part of the walk to the Inner Harbor is "sketchy" Can anyone tell me about that part? Guess we'll be taking taxis for the weekend.

Thanks for any help you can send!!

I was in Baltimore in April and we stayed at the Marriott Waterfront thru Priceline. I was nervous based on the location, but it ended up being great. I had planned on taking the water taxi, but we were able to walk everywhere.

I don't know exactly where the Wyndham is located, but you should be fine walking during daylight hours. Baltimore was MUCH nicer this time than it was 20 years ago when I went.

There are several people here from the area who can tell you more.

We were there 2 summers ago, and like you, got the Wyndham on Priceline. The walk was not bad, but NOT one that I would do at night. Basically, we walked TO our destination during the day, and grabbed a taxi back to the hotel after nightfall.

Thanks!!! That makes me feel loads better. Now, if only the bedbugs :sad2: I read about in one review will be gone - all will be well with the world.

It's really not too bad an area. If you use common sense and be city aware( and don't walk alone at night), you'll be fine. I live well north of the city and don't visit very often, but things have improved over the years, lots of rennovation. unfortunately you'll probably see some homeless and beggars, but if you keep walking and ignore, they won't bother you. Sadly, you can't always tell from the difference between the true homeless and those who pretend just to make a few bucks. Just a heads up and you may not even encounter this, but just in case, I thought you should be aware. I don't know much about the hotel since we never spend the night only being an hrs drive, but you don't always get a complete picture with reviews as most report the bad more often than the positive.

Enjoy your visit and if you have time visit the aquarium, it's top-notch and they have a special, Fridays after 5:00 for $5, same with the Science Center.

What's the street address of the hotel?

The Wyndham is the old Omni I think . It's right catycorner from the Arena .

You do not want to walk West at night time.

On the southern side of the building is Baltimore st. And that is fine to stay on going East then Charles st. south to the inner harbor.

They will have plenty of cabs if needed We walk all over that area as we street park and go to the Arena for many events.

I'm not sure about them changing names but they had a problem with theft from the room a few years ago as the Omni .

Have a fun and safe trip in my home town .

I live about 3 miles north and work all around that area.
