Balloons at Check In

Hello,

I noticed that some people were getting balloons at check in. They weren't anything fancy, just basic balloons. How do people get the balloons? Do you have to be celebrating something?

I've not heard of anyone getting balloons except for maybe those chosen as Family of the Day at the resort. I've never personally seen that.

Never seen this either. Except maybe in a commercial. No balloons are allowed at AKL or AKV.

We once got a balloon at check in. We had been delayed because my husband was pulled over for speeding (which he wasn't and fought the ticket and won) so we were pretty irate when we checked in. I told the Cast Member that I liked the balloon "tie downs" (small Mickey weights) after a trying day. My husband then explained why we were delayed so she gave us a balloon and told us to let her know the cop's name so she could "put a word in to deny him entrance to the parks". Cheered us up.

The best way to get balloons at check in is to order them yourself but not at the two resorts mentioned above.

We are usually at WDW for my daughters birthday. It just happens to fall on spring break. The CM's at the lounge at CSR put balloons in our room along with a card from Mickey for my daughter on year.

If they have them at the front desk, just ask. They're for everyone.

It really depends on the CM and if they are not busy. We check-in late all the time and our DDs have got them a few times. It's easier to give out when there are not a lot of kids or people around

Same here. A cast member brought one to our room for my daughter's birthday.

When we stayed at the Value resorts we always get balloons for my son. They even gave us another one when I rechecked in (split stay due to dining special starting after we begun our vacation) Just ask for one if they have them.

We got balloons at POFQ once. We checked in and their computers were down so we had to pay out of pocket for our food, even though we were on the dining plan. They smiled and said, "Here, have a balloon!" I haven't liked balloons since.

We got balloons and a card from Mickey and Minnie when we stayed during our honeymoon.

DH & myself were selected as family of the day in January of 2014 when we checked into the Yacht Club. We got a bunch of balloons. It was also DH's birthday, so he was wearing a birthday button. Soon after check-in we went to Captain's Grille for lunch and the waitress brought him a free dessert and another bunch of balloons. I was afraid if we got any more balloons, we wouldn't be able to fit in the room. It was great fun, and I hated it when they deflated.

I got some during check in at ASMo, but I had to ask (for my kids). Also once at POP, we came back to the room to find a balloon and a signed picture of Mickey for my daughter's bday (I didn't ask, it was a nice surprise).

It depends. If you see them in the lobby just ask for one. They often have them during slower times when the CMs are desperately looking for something to do. I got a balloon one time at *** but ehat was hilarious was I was a seasonal CM taking a working vacation so was actually staying there while I put in my work hours not for vacation.

When we check in at OKW, they often have balloons made in to flowers behind the desk. They seem to offer them to everyone. As a previous poster said, there are no balloons at AKL and AKV because of the animals.
