OK, so unlike most women, I am hopeless when it comes to shoes. I have about 4 pairs and that's it :sad2:

The dress I'm wearing on Saturday is this one (the one on the right)

So I need a recommendation for shoes. Bearing in mind, the dress is not that long on me so (presumably) I need quite flat shoes. No idea what colour to go for though :confused3

Any help gratefully received as I have only Saturday morning to find the perfect shoe, otherwise I'm wearing either my Crocs or my trainers :rotfl2:

Oops, wrong board :rolleyes1 Can one of the Mods move to Community please :thumbsup2

Haven't you still got the shoes you're wearing? Wouldn't they work? Presumably not, or you wouldn't be asking the question.

Something strappy and spangly would be good for this time of year. Have a look in Faith.

Unfortunately, Deb, I sold them on Ebay after the wedding. Wish I hadn't now but, of course, I never thought then that I would be able to wear her dress and I knew I wouldn't be wearig mine again :rotfl:

Not sure if we have a Faith nearby :confused3 Shoesforless and Barratts are about all Lisburn has to offer :rotfl: Might mean persuading hubby to have a trip into Belfast :teeth:

Do you have a Barratts?

I walk past one very day on the way to work and they have some gold & silver ones in the window, havnt had a close look but I think they would go great with the dress although they did have heels. The design was 'ballroom' type but it seems to be all the rage!

dressy shoes

If you click to go onto the next page there are a couple of pairs where the heel looks lower.

:sunny:

Some gold sandals would be nice - any decent department store would have something suitable I woud think.

I can't really believe you only have 4 pairs of shoes - I have about 70!!! But pleeeease don't tell DH - I don't think he realises :teeth:

Why flats? Is your date shorter than you are? (been there!)

I think since the dress is very simple and non-spangly that you could go with some serious bling on your shoes if you wanted, especially if you didn't wear a necklace and just did a drop earring that had some coordinating bling-age :goodvibes

Calvin Klein black strappies

or these:

Silver Strappies

or, if you really want flats,

flats

cute silver flats

Hope this helps! Zappos is an *awesome* shoe website.

Joh is there a tempest in Lisburn they sell Faith shoes. I would go with some silver shoes - Barretts have some nice pump type shoes with a small heel! :teeth:

Actually Gill, I lied. I have counted them and I actually have 6 pairs:

Trainers
Trainer-style slip-ons
Crocs
Black boots (for work)
Black shoes (for work)
Black sandals

That's it - I can't even begin to think where I would keep 70 pairs of shoes, let alone wear them all :rotfl:

Thanks for the recommendations everyone. Jill, I'm not sure if there is a Tempest in Lisburn (maybe something in Menary's, the department store).

Anyway, I've persuaded DH to take the day off work on Friday and take me shopping for shoes :teeth: I may even buy 2 pairs :rotfl:

There see, you've got 50% more than you thought! And if you buy 2 pairs you'll have double!!! :lmao:

Since our "children" have all left home, I keep my clothes and shoes in all 4 bedrooms!!!! Tony has one wardrobe and about 10 pairs of shoes :teeth:

I guess we all "love" something, and for me it's shoes. :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

ARGH my mum uses my room when I'm not at home too...it's so annoying when I'm home for the holidays (although I'm not going home for Summer) and I go to get something to wear out of my wardrobe, put it on and think "ooooh this is a bit tight"....it's not that im putting weight on, its that my mother has put HER clothes in MY wardrobes!

PS - Good luck with the shoes
