Hi!

***ETA this is for the Dream***

Getting ready to book a cruise for next summer with my family and BIL and his family. We'd like to get connecting rooms. I've been on three DCL cruises, but am considering booking rooms at the back of the ship for the first time to try out the extended verandahs.

The following rooms are available: 10160, 10162, 10164 and then 10660, 10662, 10664 (someone already booked 10166).

I checked out the map online and the rooms don't appear to connect, but I was wondering if the balconies in any of these room open up/connect with each other? I'd be fine not getting connected rooms if the balcony partitions can be opened.

Thanks in advance!

@Bear3412 may be able to help you.

Per this video: Fantasy 10160

Note that on the side of the balcony divider is a lock mechanism:

I'm thinking this is where the balcony will open to it's neighbour, 10162.

We did a back to back in the deck 9 aft balconies on the Dream a few years ago. We had 4 cabins and all the balconies could be opened to connect - even the 2 cabins that our party didn't have (they had them all open during the turn around time between cruises), so I would think the deck 10 aft balconies would do the same.

You may fare better on the 10th deck than we did on the 5th but you couldn't pay me to stay in one of those staterooms again. We were in 5688 and the vibration and noise were horrible particularly at higher speeds. I could have lived with the vibration but the noise from the engine/propellers(?) was unbelievable. We had a horrible time sleeping - well actually we didn't sleep much. There was also a sewage smell coming from the bathroom. AC was also not working, but at least they were able to fix that, not the smell, and obviously not the vibration/noise. Several people on our cruise with staterooms at the back of the ship had the same issues. And you could feel the vibrations on higher decks although to a lesser degree (we felt them on the 11th and 12th decks). I really think this is a Fantasy issue since those aft facing staterooms are highly coveted on other lines. We just got off the Fantasy Saturday. Still trying to catch up on my sleep!

Thanks so much everyone!! KashasMom, I'm sorry you did not have a good room...definitely will keep that in mind. Thank you!

We had 10158 and it was a great room. Some people say they hear chairs scraping above but we heard nothing. There's some vibration when they park the boat but were early risers and were getting up anyways.
