What are the advantages/disadvantages of having one? We will be there in December with a 1 year old toddler. Are the rooms with a balcony any bigger than non-balcony rooms?

I believe the room sizes are the same. We had a Jr. Suite with balcony at the Swan. We loved sitting on the balcony in the early morning and evenings. The view was fabulous. However, I would suggest being careful with a balcony and a toddler if your child is crawling/walking.

The balconies are rather small, and they are made of a wrought iron flower design that goes all the way down to the bottom of it. I wanted a balcony, but was glad I didn't get it. My three year old would have tried to climb it!! :Pinkbounc

Your 1 year old may or may not be at that stage yet, but it definitely is the type of balcony that a toddler could climb.
