Balconies at WL

I'm staying at WL for the first time this July and I was wondering if all the rooms have balconies? If not, can you request one or is it just luck?

I think all rooms have some type of porch, either an enclosed dormer type one on a top floor, a balcony type one like we had on th esixth floor or a patio on the ground floor. I think the VWL's are different though. HTH

They do have balconies. Of course, they are all in different locations depending on which view you get....Standard, Woods View, or Courtyard View. The balconies on the 6th floor are enclosed and are hard for little ones to see out of. We have only stayed on the 5th floor and 6th floor. We prefer the 5th floor because the balconies are made of iron rods and the kids can see throught them while being safe. If you are like us and have little ones, we still stand right there on the balcony with them but they have a hard time seeing anything on the 6th floor.

I am very adamant that I do not want a room on the 6th floor ever! I would rather have a lesser view (ie: woods view rather than courtyard) just to have the slatted balcony rather than the solid balcony. With the solid balcony, you have to stand right at the balcony to see anything. DH and I like to look out from the room and be able to see something besides a solid wall.

So to answer your original question...yes, all rooms have a balcony. if I were you, I would request 3rd, 4th or 5th floor!

Thanks for the info. Looks like I need to steer clear of the 6th floor though! I wonder why they have the solid railings on that floor?

I don't know for sure, but my guess is that it has something to do with exterior architechture and appearance.

Some people say they do not mind the solid balconies, but I just don't see how your couldn't. Even if you don't like to sit outside on the actual balcony (which DH and I love to do) when you are in your room, you only see a wall outside of your sliding glass door. You must stand right at the "wall" to see over it.
