Balboa Island?

About how long does it take to go from DLR to Balboa Island?
I remember going there with my wife about ten years ago and it was a nice relaxing time.
I was thinking about maybe going there for dinner our first night in Anaheim and show the kids around. They would probably love to take the ferry across.
Are there suggestions for dining on the island as well, something in the family-friendly price range?

If you are travelling during non-rush hours times, about 30 minutes. The route I have used: Take the 1-5 South to the Jamboree exit. Travel west on Jamboree all the way to Balboa Island. (You won't take the ferry this way but it is faster) I am not sure the ferry runs at night.

I grew up just across the bay on Lido Isle. Don't forget to try a Balboa Bar - vanilla ice cream dipped in chocolate and covered with sprinkles. If you want to take the ferry to Balboa Peninsula (if it is running) take them to the Fun Zone.
