Is it just vegetable oil? My daughter wants to make Madeleines and the recipe calls for 3tbs "salad oil". I swear I've never heard of this.:confused3
Thank you.

I changed my recipes over to either the vegetable oil or canola oil..which ever I have in the house at the time....usually not much difference in the taste or the make up of the recipe...

quoted from another site

"fact, salad oil is a catch-all name for any edible vegetable oil that might be used in a salad dressing. So your non-specific recipe lets you use the equally non-specific vegetable oil, or corn oil, sunflower oil, safflower oil, canola oil, peanut oil, a light olive oil, or any other fairly bland vegetable oil you can find.
