We are going to OKW 3/28/-4/6 and will be there for DS bday. He will be turning 8. He just asked me if he can make him a cake there. I was wondering if there are round baking pans or a 9x13 pan in the villa? :sunny:

Funny you wrote this we're leaving for OKW on Thursday and I'm wondering the same thing and about muffin pans, I'm thinking I will just bring the metalic muffin wrappers because they can stand on their own and put them on a baking sheet. And if there is no round cake pan possibly buying one of those disposable ones at the grocery store (less to clean too).

We are staying in a GV right now at OKW and the baking equipment is surprisingly limited. I remember there used to be a lot more. We have a cookie sheet and a glass 9x12 pan, no muffin pan. We made Christmas breakfast here for 12 people and really had to juggle, scramble to get everything cooked. I did find disposible aluminum pans at Publix which worked fine for the muffins we made. There are no round pans. We have already asked housekeeping for several items, including pot holders. There were no pot holders! If you have a certain size pan you have in mind I'd bring it with you. I brought a cookie sheet and an alumimum 9x12 pan along or we would not have been able to make everything we had planned. They do have a hand mixer in the GV and TWO wine openers. Hope this helps.

If there is a 9x13 pan and it is glass, can you just spray it or butter it so the cake doesn't stick?

The glass pan should work fine if you spray it first. Sometimes it's advised to decrease the oven temp 20-25 degrees if you are using a glass pan - tends to burn the bottom a bit easier than regular pans.

No muffins pan when I'e been at OKW. We bring our own. Don't forget somoe type of grease/PAM spray if your recipe calls for it.
