Are they still doing this thing at The Land? How often do they do it and does it cost anything?

What is the scoop on this thing?

The Toll House Junior Chef Baking is in the Sunshine Season Food Fair area of The Land. If you're looking at the row of stands, its in the far left corner. Yellow and red "gingerbread-y" looking stand. At the top of every hour, I believe (or maybe on the half-hour). And it runs 12-5pm, if I remember correctly. I'm *almost* positive it is free. I watched it in December and it looked like a lot of fun. Plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early (no advanced sign-up)

Yes it is free. My DD did this last June when she was almost 6 and really had fun. They do not allow little ones under three to participate except if you have a mature two year old and they basically seemed to approve it based on crowd size. Very cute touch at the end--they tell the kids they have a magic oven and they have to cover their eyes and do an "I do believe" Tinkerbelle-esque kind of a deal and then one of the bakers takes away the pan with the batch the kids just made and brings a fresh batch out of the kitchen. Our system was we got FP to the Living with the Land ride, ate some lunch and then did the baking deal, then it was our FP time. Worked out well.

I've been to the Land a few times but didn't know this. I never paid attention to those shops. Are their any others that children can participate in?
Thanks

Last September when we went, we were with a co-worker and her three boys (6, 8,9) and they LOVED it. They all got Chef's hats, to keep, and they helped bake the cookies. Too bad adults couldn't do it! LOL

This sounds too cool! I can't believe I have never heard of this before reading this thread. Thanks for sharing the info. We will definately be trying this in Dec. Anything else I may have missed in that area of Epcot?

Make sure to check the times and be early. They only allow so many children. It is alot of fun!!!!

This sounds really neat! I had an idea that i think would be a great souvenir Take the chefs hat you get and get Mickey to autograph it at Chef Mickey's at CR.

Also does anyone know what the age limit is for this. Was wondering if my 11 yr old girls could do it?

I love these boards! I have found out so much new stuff to do when we visit and have learned so much.

Thank you for posting this. My DS,DD & DS will love this.

and the cookies that they give the kids at the end are really good.
Yum. Each kids gets 2 cookies, so they can share.
I saw older kids there before, it should be no problem for an 11 years old...

Do they have the times for this posted in the park maps?

Did anyone see any older boys taking part in this? DS is 11, I think he'd enjoy it.

disneyjunkie, I don't think this is included on the park maps. It's one of those magical Disney secrets that you miss if you don't know about them :) I'll bet your son would enjoy this activity.

DNSDisney There is no definite age limit. I understand that Disney "encourages" children 12 and under to attend but that older kids would not be refused if they wanted to participate.
