Hey all!

I'm trying to find some bakeware, but would have no idea what to look for.

My parents are asking me what I want for Christmas, and the first thing that came to mind was some new bakeware.

I have a couple 2 1/2 qt glass dish/lid sets, as well as a couple 13x9 cake pans, and a smaller pyrex container (maybe 5x9"?).. but that's all I really have around here.

Was thinking it would be nice to have some more smaller containers, since it's just the 4 of us I'm cooking for normally, and when I use the 2 1/2 qt containers, 1/2 of it is left over usually.

What's a good brand to look for? Pyrex still good?

Also, what's the name of the small (approx. 2 cup) containers that could be used for chicken pot pies, individual soups (french onion), etc? Would love to start making stuff like that, so thinking I'd like 4 of those type of containers also.

Thanks for any help!

Are you looking for casserole dishes? If so I like corningware.

They're called ramekins.

Thank you! The corningware looks really nice.. and yes, the ramekins were just what I was looking for.. wonder what size I'd get.. maybe 14 ounce?

I have several sizes. I use the 4 oz. ones most often. I think I've used the 10 oz. ones once or twice for pot pies. I've never used one bigger than that, but I tend to use them for desserts more than anything.

I will also point out that you should really think about the things you atually cook. I used to have a ton of baking dishes and they were really a waste of money. I took a ton of them to the goodwill last year. Now I have a 9x13 pyrex pan, an 8x8 pyrex pan, two corning ware casserole dishes, 2 round cake pans, 2 loaf pans, Some ramekins, and 3 cookie sheets. That's it, and it's plenty. It's easy to think you need a ton of pans, but most of them just end up taking up room and collecting dust.

I think you mean ramekins.

I like Pyrex, I also like Corningware. I have some smaller corningware pieces that are smaller than those 2 1/2 quart ones, they are good for making side dishes. But I don't know if it's still easy to get those or not.
