How far in advance can you assemble baked ziti?

I am making it for dinner, and I wanted to have it ready so ahead of time so I could just put it in the oven.

Cooking is not my forte  , but I do make a good ziti, IMHO, and I wasn't sure if the noodles would get too mushy.

Any help will be appreciated!

I did this yesterday for company. I cook the ziti noodles until just under al dente because they finish in the oven. I assembled everything about 1 and popped it in the over around 6. I just put it in the refrigerator until about 5. I took it out early, to bring the temp up just a bit so it didn't take forever for it to cook. I also let my noodles cool too before I put it together with all the cheeses.

I would make it ahead of time but only cook the ziti partways before you put it in the oven
