Hi, I am making baked ziti for a party and it needs to be served out of a crock pot. Usually I would make the ziti then bake it and serve it right from the casserole dish.

Has anyone ever heated it in a crock pot? Do I still bake it and then put it in the crock pot? Or do I just mix it all together and put it right into the crock pot? A corck pot wont "bake" it will it? A crock pot is primarily used to heat stuff up, right? Any tips are greatly appreciated!

Macaroni is generally really tough in the crock pot. At least, I always have trouble with it.

I don't think I would bake it first. I think I'd probably par-cook it, toss it in said crock pot, mixed up with your cheese.

I agree - pasta doesn't cook well in a crock pot. You could put the sauce in the crock pot and let it heat up. Boil the pasta on the stove and add it to the sauce. Mix in the cheese and let it sit on low for about 20 minutes so it's good and melted. Sprinkle more cheese on top while it's heating. You won't end up with an actual "baked" ziti, but I bet it will still be good!
