HELP!

I am not great with this stuff. I purchased the Bake Pop "stuff" for DD for Christmas & want to make sure I have all the supplies I need so she can make them. I was going to buy cake mix for the cake part but what is the candy coating made of? Will regular frosting work?

Any hints or tips would be appreciated, thanks!

Do u have lollipop sticks .I use melted chocolate and dip the lollipop .hope she enjoys making the pops ,they are fun .

You need a cake mix, 3/4 can of frosting, sticks, and the melting chocolate. That is the Wilton wafers that you find at craft stores. It comes in different colors. Michaels has the best selection.

Sorry I am so dense. How does she use the frosting with the wafers (which I assume are the melting chocolates). Please type slowly as I am REALLY clueless with this! :rotfl2:

When you make cake pops you bake the cake. Let it cool. Break it into pieces and mix enough frosting into the cake crumbs to make it wet so you can roll it into a ball. Put a lollypop stick it. Dip in melted chocolate and let set.

If you bought a cake pop maker you do not use frosting as described above. That is if you roll them by hand. If its the maker all you need are lollipop sticks, chocolate wafers and something to melt them in and decorations

This is hilarious. I also bought the as seen on tv Cake Pops...and have not yet opened the box, because I have no clue what to do! LOL

1. Use some cake mix and follow directions on the maker to bake the "pops." (I bought a doughnut maker and used cake mix in it and it took a couple batches to get the right amount to put in the machine... but they're so small that one box of cake mix goes a long way.)
2. When cool, stick in a lollipop stick. Or not. Melt some almond bark or chocolate wafers. Dip pop in chocolate.
3. While chocolate is still wet, you can add sprinkles or nuts or wahtever you'd like.

The pop makers are strange because the beauty of a cake pop/cake ball is the frosting in it. However, the makers would be much less messy...
