Personally, I've never used a locker and have no intention of using one. I just meant a small waist pack, or at most a string backpack.

Seriously, thanks for this input. I have been trying to figure out how to go bagless, mostly because of the bag check line. Now that I know we will have to wait regardless, I will just work on carrying as little as possible in my waist pack. My daughter really wanted to use her new Cheshire Cat crossbody bag/waist pack so she will be happy! And I'm happy for her!

Yeah, if it's work to go bagless, don't bother, just carry the least possible, with the easiest to check bag you can use
But we have not found that we have to wait at all. Not our last 2 trips anyway. Last year yes but this year, we find fewer guests are pulled for metal detectors. So we were pulled 0% of the time except for IG, were everyone is sent through 100% of the time.

Can't speak for the original poster, but how is that any different from the hordes of people in queues playing Words With Friends or browsing Instagram or whatever it is all the cool kids do now a days. Reading a book could at least make that constructive instead of just a time waster.

Hi! I am the original poster about the paperback! A paperback makes the time waiting in line fly by and I don't have to worry about a battery running low. I'm often a solo traveler and having a book is actually a great conversation starter!

I don't get this logic only because the only time I get a locker is at a water park

Do you bring a backpack along? If you do it's probably annoying to carry around with you and not use a locker. If we use a bag (haven't for a while though) it's always a backpack

If I'm bothering to bring in a bag, it's because I want easy access to my stuff, which means having it with me, not in a locker way off in the front of the park. But I've never worried about the minimal amount of time it usually takes to get through bag check either.

Strollers have to go through bag check.

They let me go through the no bag line.
