Bagless Line

A paperback? As in a book? To read? While at Disney? That seems like an odd thing to do at a theme park

I used to take a paperback or e-reader all the time. So relaxing to sit and read while the family is riding things that I won't do. Or, back when I had a napping baby in the stroller I would sit somewhere quiet with my book.

Wow. I never considered reading at the parks. I can see sitting and relaxing and people-watching, or enjoying the scenery. I can't imagine sitting with my nose in a book, and I love to read.

But it's very reminiscent of Belle! ;)

I went bagless with a stroller and had a ergo baby on. My husband had the back pack and I had the kids. They were fine with it.

No bag here either. I carry phone in my pocket and paperback in my hand.

Can't speak for the original poster, but how is that any different from the hordes of people in queues playing Words With Friends or browsing Instagram or whatever it is all the cool kids do now a days. Reading a book could at least make that constructive instead of just a time waster.

I always used to bring a book to read during down times or in the queues at DL. Now I just get ebooks and read them from my phone. I dont play any games on my phone, I am not a texter. Reading is the best way to get through down time.

I had thought I would wear a money belt with ID and money in it and maybe chapstick & thought I could go through the bagless line but this post is making me think that would set off the metal detector because of the zipper and it might not be worth it...

A few do this and wear it on the outside or carry it till through the metal detector and once through put it under your clothes

I use a little pouch hanging from a lanyard for phones, and any cash or Disney Dollars I choose to bring with me. Iput any Disney buttons on the lanyard in case I need to go through the metal detector. I put chapstick, gum, and a travel sunblock in a pocket and have carried a bottle of water. It is very easy and fast. Now I have done this in the past at Disneyland for the sake of bag-less convenience-they dont have a bag-less line there. It look like the one you can see my son and I wearing here:

for my up coming trip I am thinking of getting one of those water bottle holders to be even more hand free. do they let you go through the bagless line with the water bottle holders that you wear on a strap over you shoulder?

That's what I was hoping but I just realized I'm a doofus and although I've read posts on here about what is absolutely needed in the park, and thought it would work, I forgot about my epipen. I've never used my own in my entire life but if I leave it at the hotel, it would probably be the one day I need it. It's for latex too and I'm guessing they sell latex balloons at the park!

Good question. No idea what those balloons are made from. They look like latex but no idea if there are other things to make them out of or not

You can go through bagless entry with a waist pack showing or in their hand? I thought any "bag" or "pack" is considered a bag and you have to go through bag check.

I have no idea. I don't use one. I put my stuff in my pockets. I've read others say they go through with the money belt thing empty and put it on when inside.

Oh okay, I've read they put them under their clothes empty and flat, and pull them out over their clothes once they are inside.

On our last two trips I have gone through the bag check line since I either carry a backpack or small purse and my DH has gone through bagless line. Every single time, at every single park, I got through the bag check line faster than he got through the bagless line. It seems like when you go through the bag line they wave you right past the metal detectors but if you don't have a bag you have to go through them. And those metal detectors always seemed to get backed up because people forget to take stuff out of their pockets or something they are wearing (belt, bracelets, etc) sets them off.

Thanks! We've never been through the metal detectors. But I'm so glad they have them!

Any bag has to go through bag check.

Seriously, thanks for this input. I have been trying to figure out how to go bagless, mostly because of the bag check line. Now that I know we will have to wait regardless, I will just work on carrying as little as possible in my waist pack. My daughter really wanted to use her new Cheshire Cat crossbody bag/waist pack so she will be happy! And I'm happy for her!

Strollers have to go through bag check.
I've seen plenty of strollers going in the bagless lanes. As long as there are no bags at all in the stroller, or in the bottom of the stroller, they wave them right on through. They will slow them and make sure they have no bags in them.
