Baggallini vs. backpack..............

I have been reading alot about these bags. I will be going in Dec. with our DD who will be 3 and DS who will be 9. I will be packing a small cooler (leaving it in the stroller during rides- if someone steals it they need it more than I). I am wondering if I will need a backpack or just a Baggallini. I think i took the backpack on rides when we were there in 2004. So, Baggallini vs. backpack.........

I won't be much help because I am waiting for my baggallini to arrive on Tuesday. Our trip is in 3 weeks. My kids are 9, 8 and 5. I am "planning" for them to each have a backpack of their own so I'm not carrying e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g. in mine. I know I will have my camera,meds,phone,daily touring plan. Plus,water,sunscreen,etc. I'm excited to see this bag and hope it is as wonderful as everyone here has said.

I have a Baggalini Messenger and I am sorry to say I am not one of the people who LOVE this bag. I too bought it on the recommendations on these boards and my first trip I was miserable with it. Then, I sewed the adjusting straps in place so it wouldn't slip off and hang too low and my most recent trip was a bit better. IMO it's not the best bag, maybe that's just me. I don't like a backpack becuase they are too large and your back sweats but I think you could find a better bag-just keep trying some out until you find the one that fits you the best. I like the sling bags which the Messenger almost is,

I like a backpack, I have 2 that have a zipper on the strap that makes it into a sling bag. This way I get 2 for 1. I bought 1 at qvc, and the other at the REI store.

The baggallini does not appeal to me whatsoever. I carry a mini-backpack and it's fabulous. As they say if it works, don't fix it. I've taken a mini-backpack on both of our previous trips and it was perfection. Small enough that there's no sweating, and big enough that it holds a lot without becoming heavy.

I caved to the "Dis peer presure" two years ago and bought the Bagallini large wallet bag. It wasn't horrible but it did have a few design flaws that drove me crazy. I couldn't figure out what everyone raved about and I certainly didn't think it was the Best Park Bag. Maybe the messager bag is better?

I keep looking until I found the Travelon backpack/ sling (the one that looks like a triangle from QVC.) It was perfect for me. Lightweight and small enough not to be a bother but large enough to hold everything I need.

It is now my must have park bag!

I've used the baggallini for three Disney trips and I think it's more than enough for our needs. I have a two year old and it was big enough for a couple diapers, wipes and a sippy cup as well as the other little essentials for the park (ponchos, wallet, etc.) I am one of those people that tries to pack as light as possible so I would vote for the baggallini vs. the backpack.

I'm debating on whether or not to bring the baggallini on our next trip or just keep diapers and stuff in the stroller and carry a little wallet on a string type purse instead. Although I am a little obsessed with the leather bag Samantha Brown had on her latest Disney World Holidays show but I can't seem to find anything similar. :-(

A couple years ago, on a whim, I went to my local Army/Navy store and I found tons of great travel type bags. Plus, they're totally inexpensive. I would recommend going there. There's lots of choices, bags with lots of pockets, all sorts of stuff. I have had mine for about 8-9 years and I won't travel without it. Try it!!!

My red baggallini came today and it's actually bigger than I was expecting. I'm used to lugging around a sling-type backpack filled with heavy textbooks, so even full, this bag will be much lighter than I'm used to.

I prefer this style of bag to regular backpacks, so I think I'll be happy. I'm really looking forward to trying it out in a few weeks.

My baggalini came last week. I'm not crazy about it. Still can't put my finger on what exactly I don't like about it except that it won't fit everything for a family of six plus my camera (well, the camera of my dreams that I'm praying DH will get for my bday)

I think I might take dd's llbean backpack and just put it on the stroller if it bothers me. That or i'll ask my parents to buy me the Vera Bradley backpack that I want for my bday (heehe, maybe that will work)

I just received my baggallini last week. I won't use it for another couple months but it seems fine to me and just the right size. I don't like to pack anything more than a camera, sunscreen, cell phone, maybe a couple extra t-shirts for the kids, and our park tickets. That's about it. It looks like it'll all fit fine.

i do the baggallini and my dh carries a small backpack or messenger bag. we just can't do 1 bag for all of us it's not the bag to use if you have small kids and only 1 person carrying the bag. i was in charge of documents, wet ones wipes, tickets, sunscreen, etc. dh was in charge of camera, emergency underwear (for dd!), video camera, etc.

i'm also not crazy about having everything in 1 bag. maybe it's the NY'er in me but at least if we lose a bag or it gets stolen, not everything is gone.

We just bought the Overland equipment Luna. It's a sling backpack, and we've already used it for day trips and it's perfect, lightweight, small and comfy.

The ones getting close to being retired are 25% off, but I still have a hard time justifying the purchase. I think I clicked it in and out of my cart about 15 times last week

I love my baggelini. It was comfy wearing it as a messenger or just on one shoulder, and did not fall off.
My favorite was that when it was worn across my body i could still slide it around and get into it without taking it off.

I just got mine before our quick trip this past weekend. I agree that it's not my favorite, the strap kept slipping, AND the buckle rested right on my collarbone so I woke up the next morning and couldn't wear it the same way because that spot was so tender!

It is much lighter and the size was great - mine is red, too! I love the look of it, but sadly......

I think this might be the solution! I had mine so packed full! Huge autograph book (made from designs on this board!), clipboard for autograph book, camera (not so small either!), sunscreen, tickets, wipes, bandaids, etc. It laid nicely on my back though, even with all that in there, it just got a bit heavy. I think DH is going to need his own pack of some sort for our next trip in May.

That part I loved! Everything was easily accessible, tickets, pens for autographs, bandaid for DH, gum, etc!

I also have the Overland Donner bag, but not sure it's large enough. The baggalini looks great, is the perfect size, and I like the messenger style. Just that darn buckle slips and dug into my collarbone! The second day I wore it, I couldn't wear the same way, I could only wear over one shoulder. Now I'm at a loss as to what to do for May!

To me the Baggalini just didn't look very comfortable. I use a slingback back pack. It's not as bad as a backpack because it only has one strap. We got ours when all the school supplys came out.
