Not hot as in "sexy", but hot as in the having a thick strap on my chest in the sweltering heat of summer? Did anyone try it and not like it for that reason?

Also, wondering how much stuff I could cram in there... I need to pack a digitial camera, sunscreen, a diaper and extra outfit for 3 year old (just in case!), hand sanitizer, and perhaps 5 small rain ponchos, some crystal light to go packets, and park tickets.

Bag experts, I need help! I thought I had a bag picked out but the magnet closure stopped me cold (don't want to de-magnetize anything important!)

I just purchased a baggallini (of course, lime green) and have always read on this board that they are very handy. I have used the traditional fanny pack (I know, uggh!) but will try the new bag in March. As for the "hot" factor, I guess having the option to sling it over one shoulder is better than the traditional backpack.

Would love to hear some more feed back!

The Baggallini is great. you will have plenty of room for all the stuff you listed.

I use one as a diaper bag for my son and it works great. I bought DD 12 a new lime green one for Christmas that she (or should I say "I") can carry in the parks when we go in May.
The material is very light, so I'm not sure it would be very hot, but when the temp is 94 and the humidity is 99% anything is going to be bad.
The bag has a mesh pocket on the side perfect for holding a bottle of water, and there are compartments inside. I really love this bag. If you get one and dont like it I'm sure you could sell it very easy. You can get a 20% discount on it!!

I bought a black one for our trip in October 2006 and loved it. It wasn't 'hot' at all and as the OP said, you could always just swing it over one shoulder (which is what I did) rather than have the strap across your chest. By doing this it also makes it easier to slip it off and on when getting on/off rides. There are lots of little pockets and I found it held everything we needed for the day, including our camera. You really need to decide what's best for you and what you want it to hold as what works for one person may not work for someone else. Just my 2 cents.

Bonny

Ellajoan-
Off topic- but when in June are you going? We'll be at POP from June 20-25th... Maybe you'll be there at the same time?

I took the Baggallini with me in September. I only used it one day. I didn't like it because it was hot and it wasn't big enough for me. I have a 3 and 5 year old. I kept snacks, 2 water bottles, sunscreen, cameras, and ponchos in it. Then by the time you add your map and tickets, etc, it was too full and I couldnt' find anything. I ended up using my normal backpack!

Don't know about cramming in the outfit, diapers, and ponchos. But I did use mine last memorial day on a weekend trip to Chicago where the weather was 95 degrees on a day of sight seeing. It worked out fine, I wasn't hot and sweaty at all!
