Baggallini Question

I have done a search of previous threads to see what park bags people recommend and what purses/bags in general people recommend as my purse is almost ready to be replaced (I use the same one until it is ready to be replaced and do not change out purses). A variety of Baggallini bags come up on almost every thread that I have read. I have checked the TJ Maxx/Marshalls type stores for these bags without luck. I would prefer to see the bags before purchasing one since it is a bag I will use almost every day. Does anyone know of any department stores that carry the Baggallini bags? I haven't had any luck so far although I'm willing to go to a different mall if there is a department store that carries them that isn't at the local mall I usually frequent.

They sell a variety of Bagallini bags at my AAA (in NC). I don't know if it's true at every AAA, but it's worth a look.

I just purchased one at a local Lotions and Potions store but paid full list price. I've gotten baggallinis at TJ Maxx and Marshalls by checking back frequently. They seem to restock every month. Otherwise, I use Amazon and send it back if it does not fit my needs.

The only store we have that you guys listed is AAA. I will have to check there. If they don't have them then it looks like I'll have to keep checking TJ Maxx and Marshalls until they get some in. I was really hoping that a department store carried them but I guess not.

When I can't find product I go to the website and see what stores carry the product. You could also call and find out where to locate the purses as well.

Baggallini.com has a "find a retailer" link at the bottom of the page. We have the messenger bagg in a gender neutral color. It has gone on many vacations in the past 6 or so years....and is heading to Disneyland on Friday! Even with little ones and the diaper bag, we still carry it with our valuables. That way we can leave the diaper bag on the stroller when we go on rides (if someone needs our pampers and wipes that badly, they can have them!).

Baggalini's website will tell you where to buy in your area. I have 6 Baggalinis of various designs. All of mine have been purchased either at Marshall's or TJMaxx, but I'll list out the things that I like about them, that may help you as well.

1. Washable. but rain-resistant. I scotchgard mine when I buy them, just to be sure, but washing them is easy. Just empty them out and toss 'em in the washer. Line dry.
2. VERY good quality hardware. There are lots of zippers and hooks on a typical Baggalini, and having them all in working order is important. I've never had a single piece of hardware break on mine, and I often carry them daily and frequently overload them with key rings, etc.
3. Contrast linings. All their bags have a lining in a fairly bright contrast color. Where I sit I can see four of them: the navy is lined with lime green, the olive green one is lined in tangerine, and the black and the khaki are lined with sky blue. I find that the contrast lining is very helpful when I need to see the contents in less than perfect lighting conditions.

Lastly, I will say that unless you don't anticipate carrying anything but papers or such that are flat, I would make it a point to buy a model with a gusetted bottom design. Truly flat crossbody bags don't hold very much at all. My collection contains two large totes that will each hold nearly a grocery sack's worth, two medium crossbodies that will easily hold a full working day's necessities (but not a spare jacket except for a pocket-fold windbreaker), and two roomy string wallets that, along with cash and cc, will hold a phone, a short hairbrush, a lipstick, sunglasses, a bandanna, and a small tube of face sunblock.

One nice thing, if your local AAA carries them, is you can go in and see and feel them--actually figure out what style you like best. Or at least what features are your must-haves. Then, you can purchase wherever you can find them. Or, if you then can't find "your" bag at Marshall's or TJ Maxx or whatever, at least you can get it at the AAA store or order online confidently. Like you, I use one bag until it's shot, and I don't like ordering online without being able to see/feel the bag, and imagine how I'll use it in daily life. Does that make sense?

BTW, I'm a very practical bag type person, and I love Travelons. Not trying to sway you at all, go with what you love, but they have tons of pockets and RFID protection, and wear like iron.

You may already know this, but I find that my TJ Maxx and Marshalls (when they have them) have them with the luggage section sometimes rather than in the purse section for some reason.

But I will second that Amazon is usually great about returns if you order online and want to return. As is Zappos! They have free shipping both ways so you could try that as well.

This is my plan. I just have to find a store that carries them. The AAA isn't very close by so I have to plan a special trip to go there. I did find 2 in stock at TJ Maxx yesterday and have crossed them off as possibilities. They weren't what I was looking for but there are 2-3 other varieties that I would like to see. Unfortunately the one I think I will like wasn't in stock. I will have to look into Tavelons.

TJMaxx and Marshalls sometimes have their Baggallinis in a different area than purses...like near luggage.

I have lots of baggallini purses because it's the only purse brand I like. The backpacks are my favorite.
If you purchase online, going through ebates to eBags will give you the best deal.
