Hi,

After the 1/2 marathon we can meet our family and friends at the Pluto parking lot according to the WD package I received.

Why do I need to check in Baggage?
What should I put in the bag that I leave at Baggage Check-In?

I have participated in 2 1/2 marathons before, however, I never checked in a bag before.

Thanks for your help. :flower1:

*Post run shoes--aka slippers or flip flops

*any massage aid that you might use (I use the foot wheel)

*any pain relief item you use (motrin, icy hot, biofreeze...et cetera)

*a cover up shirt or lightweight athletic jacket--I have run on hot days and have been known to be shivering following the run no matter the temps outside...just b/c it is hot, doesn't mean you won't get a chill post race.

*any must have post race snack that you have to have that might not be available--obviously nothing that needs to be kept cold or squashes very easily. (I'm talking about things like nutrition bars or something--food will be available post race).

--bags must be checked in at 5am--they are checked in at EPCOT before the start and half-marathon bags are transferred to the half finish so you will have access to them when you are done. A clear bag is provided in your race pickup packet that you are supposed to utilize for this. Don't put anything valuable in there that you don't want lost or stolen b/c as usual they aren't responsible for yadda yadda yadda.

:)

Thanks Lisa,

Hope to see you there!

You definately want to change clothes after the race. I always get chills and start shivering when I do a long walk. You definately need to get out of your wet clothes as quickly as possible.

Thanks Melanie,
You are right. The other day when I took a long walk on my treadmill(inside) I got
a chill because my shirt was really wet and it took me a while to get over it.

Will there be places to change clothes at the finish?

I wouldn't count on it--I don't recall mention of it...probably best to bring stuff you can put over your clothes (but as long as you aren't removing your sportsbra--you can probably change tops easily. I find that when I wear shorts, I need warm up pants and just throw them on top--and for my top--I take off my wet shirt and either put on an athletic jacket--or long sleeve t-shirt and then jacket.
