Bag Transfer Question

We are going to be staying at SSR for the first time with DVC in a few weeks. Because of flight re-schedules we chose to stay at the All Star Sports Resort for the Friday night before our DVC stay starts. Will disney transport our luggage from a value resort such as All Star Sports to SSR? Also would we be better off if we just took them ourselves( via Cab) instead of relying on Disney? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!!

I stayed at the Allstar Sports before transferring to the SSR just a few weeks ago. Yes they will transfer your luggage for you. I checked out of the Sports, I took my luggage to bell services and had them hold my luggage and I let them know I was transferring to the SSR.
I went to the parks, and around 1:00 I went over to the SSR to get checked in. I went to my room and called Bell Services, by then it was about 1:30 they told me that the luggage usually gets there after 1:30, and they would check to see if had arrived. About 10 minutes later there was knock on my door and there was bell services with my luggage. It worked out great.

Thanks for the info. We are going in January and want to transfer between Boardwalk and Wilderness Lodge. Do you know what time you have to check out and in?

Out by 11:00, in after 4:00, same at all DVC resorts.

You can check in at any time, your room may not be available but you can still get check in. I was quite surprised that my room was ready when I checked in at 1:00.
