Anyone have a good suggestion on a type/brand of bag that is good for lugging things around the park? I've heard the the Overland Donner bag is good, but it is pricey.

Thanks from a newbie:)

Since you aren't getting much response here I am going to move this to our Tips board. I think they can help you there. :)

I bought a purse/backpack at Kohl's at the beginning of summer for $21.00. The brandname was NINE&CO.

:) Have to vote for Vera Bradley Hipster or Mini Hipster if you do not want to carry too much. I have a travelon too but feel the VB is more stylish and fun.

I bought the Overland Donner bag for our last trip and I didn't like it. It was uncomfortable. When I had it across my body, it drove me insane. When I tried to wear it like a regular purse over my shoulder, it slipped off all of the time. I didn't like that it only had one zippered area, too, which I felt wasn't the easy to access.

Sorry to anyone who loves this bag, but I wouldn't recommend it. :(

I used the donner a couple of trips & decided to try a new bag on my last trip. I bought the Turbo Sling Bag at llbean & really liked it. It has a lot of pockets, including one for a water bottle. It comes in a variety of colors & holds everything - camera, sunblock, etc.

I just ordered a baggalini messenger bag from shoebuy.com I used code save10 and it gave me $10 off. They also have free shipping which made it 21.65 shipped.

I am a big fan of my backpack.

We don't overstuff, but it's nice to have to store things in. Another plus is that since it's just a plain black jansport, my husband has no problems carrying it.

I've tried messenger bags (the across the body types) and just just don't work well for me at all.

I've never had any problems taking the backpack on any of the attractions, on the thrill rides, I just put it by my feet and loop one strap around my ankle. On splash, I stick it in a disney shopping bag and hold it in my lap (I learned the hard way...a few years ago I didn't put the backpack in a plastic bag and we got ANNIHILATED(read: soaked) and everything in the bag got wet.

DH carries a backpack. Sometimes we use a locker if it is raining, so we can take extra clothes without lugging them around. Most purchases can be sent to your resort room, cups of water are free, so we don't find a need to carry anything but sunscreen, a couple of washrags, travel size wipes, and antibacterial spray. Have fun.

I like being hands free and I hate having shoulder straps falling off of my shoulder. I have been using a purse/backpack but find every time I go to sit down on a ride or wherever I have to take it off. I hate saying this bu my best hands free- don't have to remove every time- hold everything was a waist pack. I got a professional photographers one and it held everything- just so sad they are not 'in' anymore. Next time in WDW- pants with cargo pockets and everything in a pocket.
