o.k i am wondering what i will need for going from resort to park each day?
do most people take a knapsack with extra clothes or just a waist pack thingy (? name) or what. I figure we can leave our extra $ and documentation and airline tickets in our room safe right? and just need our $ and theme park tickets/room keys ?? don't even know how that comes as its our first trip...is it a plastic pass or what ....
Help....what should I carry? :confused3

I always use a decent sized fanny pack, but I wear it differently at different times of the day. Maybe for a couple of hours I wear it around my waist.
Then I lengthen the strap, and wear it across my shoulders from one side to the other for a couple of hours. This way I don't feel any strain from wearing it too often in the same spot.

I carry tissues, chap stick, park tickets, dental floss ( don't laugh ).
I carry my own gum seeing that you cannot buy gum anywhere in WDW.
I also carry an audio cassette tape player because I like to audio record some attractions. I carry about $50.00 for the day. My ticket for MVMCP, and my extra money, and return airplane ticket are all stored in the safe back at the room.

We carry both: a fanny pack apiece plus a small daypack.

The daypack carries the "extras": small cooler with extra water, extra snacks, spare socks/ clothes for the days we plan to do a water ride (we go in November and some days it's TOO cold!) - like that.

The fanny packs have water, snacks for that person, sunscreen, gives us a place for cameras, postcards, wet wipes, etc.

When we arrive at the park we stuff our jackets/ sweatshirts in the daypack (if it has warmed up enough), then stash it in a locker. If we need to get more water or snacks, or get/ take off a jacket, we visit the locker!

cool ideas.
i always forget tissues and chapstick.
there's so many little things....plus I don't think our camera will fit in a fanny pack...have to get a big one. plus i would like one that holds a bottle of water. I saw a runner once with one like that.

I don't know how it will be when you are there but we go in June and it always rains. I always carry our ponchos or umbrellas wherever we go. You don't get much warning in Florida when it is about to rain. One minute the sun will be shining and the next it will be pouring.

DW carries a fanny pack- contains AP tickets, money for the day, ID's, room card, medical insurance cards, cell phone, camera (small one), hair bursh, hair ties (for the girls), dental floss.

DH carrries a very light nylon backpack(sack) by Nike. Adias sells them too.

Inside the Nike sack - plastic bags for rain/water rides (to store camera's), extra eyeglass (sunglasses), anything we buy in the Parks.
The Disney rain poncho's are also in the Nike Sack.
DH also carries his camera in a small bag with a shoulder strap.

KIDS - each have their own Nike sack or fanny pack - 1 snack brought into the park, their camera, their Tamagotchi in a plastic bag and or gameboy DS in a plastic bag, sunglasses when not on their face

We bring 2 water bottles in a foam wrap with a shoulder strap (found them in the food store).DW & DH hold them.

The kids have battery operated fans which also hold water. The can spray their bodies and us with water. The fans also have a shoulder strap.

Sounds like a lot - but not really.
It also depends on which Park we are going to and what we are doing.

The Niki bags are on the back of the person or fanny pack around the waist.
The shoulder for the kids only have their water fans (they will carry them anywhere in WDW and not give them up on a hot steamy day)

DH has a camera and a water bottle and DW has a water bottle on the shoulder.

We hate waiting, and we've learned to pack everything we need into the stroller so we can skip the bag search portion. We have a twin stroller with small compartments in the back and I stash diapers, wipes, and sunscreen on one side - then a sippy cup or two in the other side. I carry a keychain that has a small "wallet" attached where I keep my license, money, debit card, AP or ticket, room card, and fast passes. Anything else that comes up, we buy it there or go back to the room. The only time this has happened was when it rained and we bought the Mickey ponchos at the stands.

My camera gets worn around my neck if I have the SLR, or thrown into the pocket of the stroller if it's the digital.
